Capricorn New Moon: A sacred pause before transformation

Not just a beginning, but a meaningful ending. This Moon asks us to release old patterns, honour what’s closing, and trust that new direction and growth are just ahead.

"This New Moon isn’t about rushing ahead, it’s about rooting deeper so what you build next is truly aligned"

The Capricorn New Moon on January 19th begins a fresh lunar cycle, yet it carries the energy of a deep transition rather than a simple new start. Instead of feeling like a clear beginning, this Moon may feel more like a powerful closing chapter.

This sense of completion is influenced by both Saturn and Neptune as they linger in the final degrees of Pisces, preparing to move into Aries. Neptune shifts into Aries on January 26, followed by Saturn on February 13. Together, these cosmic movements signal major collective changes, activating new themes in our karmic paths. They are here to shake up familiar patterns, dissolve what no longer serves and open new portals of growth, awakening and discovery

What to expect

We’re currently moving through Capricorn season, an energy that can feel intense and pressurising, often creating an inner tug-of-war. This energy can be experienced in two ways: as confronting and uncomfortable, because old patterns can no longer be avoided or escaped… or as freeing and energising, because momentum and inspiration are beginning to return.

Many people are also feeling a sense of restlessness or impatience right now, a subtle, pulsing energy in the body that refuses to be ignored. It’s a reminder that the heart often senses truths before the mind is ready to fully understand them.

What TO DO

- Focus on what you’re ready to release, uproot and clear
- Reflect on the foundations you want to build moving forward
- Check in with your body, heart and inner guidance
- Create space for stillness and quiet listening
- Honour patience over pressure
-
Ground yourself through simple rituals
- Trust that clarity will come in time

What NOT to do

- Seek external validation - you already carry the answers within
- Rush decisions just to feel “productive”
- Force clarity before it naturally arrives
- Overwork or ignore your body’s need for rest
- Stay attached to outdated goals or structures
- Avoid your emotions through distraction
- Compare your path to others

The New Cycle Hair Ceremony: Releasing the Past Through Fire

Across many ancient cultures from Indigenous traditions to Eastern and European spiritual systems, hair has been seen as a keeper of memory, identity, and life force. It was believed to hold emotional experiences, energetic imprints and the stories of who we’ve been. Cutting and burning hair was used as a ceremonial act of release, marking the end of a chapter, a rite of passage or the shedding of grief, trauma or outdated versions of the self. Fire, the great transformer, symbolised purification and rebirth turning the old into ash so something new could rise

You’ll need

- A mirror
- Hair brush
-
Cutting scissors
- Hair Growth Oil

Sitting in front of your mirror use our wooden hair brush to gently untangle your hair, take a few breaths and reflect on what you are ready to release, old patterns, relationships, identities, or emotional weight. Gently trim a small section of your hair, holding it in your hands as you set a clear intention for closure. Speak or whisper what you are letting go of, thanking it for the lessons it brought.

When you’re ready, carefully burn the hair (or place it into the flame safely), visualising the past dissolving into light. Imagine the energy returning to the earth, neutralised and transformed. Finish by anointing your crown and ends of your hair with a few drops of our hair growth oil, sealing the ritual with care and renewal. This honours the body, the nervous system, and the wisdom carried in the hair, reminding you that release can be both powerful and gentle.

This ritual is not about loss, but about sovereignty, consciously choosing to close one chapter so you can step fully into the next.
