The 5 Rituals I Don’t Skip, Even in Motherhood

It’s beautiful, demanding, grounding, and at times, completely consuming. In a season where so much of me is given to others, I’ve learned that the small ways I care for myself matter deeply because they help me stay connected to who I am.

Motherhood has changed me in every way.

These are the five rituals I continue to come back to, even on the busiest days.

1. Brushing My Hair Morning and Night

Brushing my hair is one of the simplest rituals I keep each day.

It helps stimulate my scalp, supports healthy hair, and creates a small but meaningful act of care within full days. It’s often one of the few moments that feels entirely dedicated to myself.

I used to hate brushing my hair, and honestly, it was often painful. But since committing to brushing every morning and night, I’ve noticed significantly less breakage due to fewer knots, and my hair feels far more manageable and enjoyable overall.

2. Nourishing Myself Properly

I’ve learned that healthy hair, energy, and overall wellbeing begin from within.

Mineral-rich hydration, warm nourishing foods, and eating consistently have become essential parts of how I support my body. Motherhood can easily lead to depletion, so focusing on nourishment has become one of my most important forms of self-care.

Right now, I’m especially loving bone broth, magnesium at night, and blueberries to help nourish my body from the inside out.

3. Creating Gentle Mornings

Before the needs of everyone else begin, I try to create softness in my mornings.

Drinking warm water, stepping outside, allowing natural light in, and beginning the day more intentionally helps me feel more grounded. Even small shifts in how I start my day have a significant impact.

At the moment, I’m doing a 10-minute slow yoga flow each morning focused on neck and shoulder tension. It helps bring oxygen into my body, releases stress where I tend to hold it most, and creates a much better start to my day.

4. My Evening Hair Oil Ritual

Using HINU Hair Growth Oil has become one of my most grounding rituals.

I use it every day on my ends after brushing, which instantly gives my hair shine, hydration, and softness. I’m naturally prone to dry ends, so this daily ritual feels essential. It also makes my hair smell incredible.

I also use a scalp massager every night. Not only does it support hair growth, but it also helps release so much built-up tension. As a mother, that head tension is very real.

5. Protecting My Rest

Rest has become something I prioritise far more intentionally.

Sleep is one of the most powerful ways I support my nervous system, energy, and overall wellbeing. When I consistently get eight or more hours of quality sleep, I feel significantly better.

Going to bed at a similar time each night has also made a huge difference in how rested and balanced I feel.

Returning to Yourself in Motherhood

Motherhood asks so much of us, which is why caring for ourselves cannot be overlooked.

Sometimes all it takes is 5-10 minutes to just come back to ourselves and reset.

This philosophy is at the heart of why I created HINU.

I wanted to create products that support women in building rituals that feel beautiful, effective, and supportive, even during life’s fullest seasons.

Because caring for yourself matters, and often it’s the smallest daily rituals that help bring you back to yourself.
