October New Moon: A Reset in Relationships

October New Moon: A Reset in Relationships

The Libra New Moon invites us to restore balance in our relationships, reconnect with our hearts and release the habit of abandoning ourselves for the sake of harmony. It’s a time to choose reciprocity, deepen self-worth and create connections where we can love deeply without losing ourselves

"Let this be the season you stop abandoning yourself to keep the peace"

On October 10th a Libra New Moon arrives as an invitation to pause, soften and restore balance to the places in your life that have begun to feel out of alignment. Ruled by Venus, Libra is the sign of relationships, beauty, harmony, connection and reciprocity. This New Moon asks us to look closely at the ways we give and receive not only within our romantic relationships, but in our friendships, creative partnerships, work and relationship with ourselves.

Libra reminds us that true harmony doesn't come from avoiding conflict or making ourselves smaller. It comes from learning how to meet one another with honesty, respect and mutual understanding. The New Moon marks the beginning of a fresh cycle, making it a beautiful moment to set intentions around healthier relationships & clearer boundaries.. Rather than seeing relationships as a place where we lose ourselves, Libra invites us to see them as a meeting point between two whole people. Connection without self-abandonment, love without losing your centre and partnership without giving away your power.

What to expect:

Relationships may feel particularly illuminated under this New Moon. You may find yourself reflecting on the people closest to you and noticing which connections feel nourishing, reciprocal and supportive and which may need a little more honesty or balance. There is also a strong energy of perspective. Rather than reacting from emotion, Libra encourages us to step back and see situations from a wider lens. You may gain clarity around an old relationship pattern, conversation or decision that previously felt complicated.

As a Venus-ruled sign, Libra also heightens our desire for beauty and creativity. You may feel drawn to refresh your surroundings, dress differently, create something new or simply spend more time in spaces and with people that make you feel good. At its deepest level, this New Moon teaches us the difference between codependence and interdependence and the art of being able to love deeply while remaining connected to yourself.

What TO do:

  • Spend quality time with people who make you feel like yourself
  • Have an honest conversation you've been avoiding
  • Notice where your relationships feel reciprocal and where they don't
  • Refresh your space and bring more beauty into your surroundings
  • Create something simply for the joy of creating
  • Write down the qualities you want to cultivate in your relationships

What NOT to do:

  • People-please
  • Don't make yourself smaller just to keep the peace
  • Make impulsive decisions from emotional reactivity
  • Don't confuse keeping the peace with actually being at peace

Beauty Offering Ritual

Libra reminds us that beauty can be a form of devotion. This New Moon creates a small altar or sacred space using things that make you feel connected to your senses. If you already have one adorn and freshen up that space with fresh flowers, oils, a candle, incense, fruit, crystals or anything beautiful that holds meaning for you

Once your space is ready, light your candle & incense and take a few moments to appreciate what you've created. Place your hands over your heart and offer a quiet thank you to your body, your creativity, your relationships and the life you are creating.

Choose one flower, fruit or object from your altar and hold it close to your heart. Set an intention for what you want to cultivate this lunar cycle. Leave your offering in your sacred space overnight, allowing it to become a symbol of the beauty you are choosing to welcome into your life. And close the ritual by anointing your head with a few drops of your hair growth oil.
